The Sony a7sii I’m hearing has rolling shutter issues when shooting 4k 24p (main when panning) does this issue still exist? Is there another quality, affordable dslr or mirrorless or video camera that is great to shoot 4k 24p video in low light situations & that has stabilization (like the 5 axis stabilization the a7sii provideds)? Strictly interesting un using natural light, no artificial light…

what are your thoughts on the GH4? Its price will be probably cut in half in march!
I think the GH4 is probably the best camera to buy now. It has all you need if you can’t wait until March. The price has went down signifcantly in the last few months so I doubt they’d cut it even more in March. It is their current flagship after all, it wont be cheaper than a G7.

Your thoughts? I have a GH4 an dit is great. I would like to add a camcorder – I love the form factor, physical controls, etc. The DVX200 would probably be at the top of my price range. Problem is that I shoot documentaries and cinema style short films. Most review of the UX180, LS200, etc, say great for documentary style. I want one that I can get a decent cine look on, as well. Functional OIS would also be nice. Your suggestions?

Hi am looking for a comparatively inexpensive 4K Eng Video camera which is compact, has auto as well as manual setting and has XLR ports. I’m going into some pretty hostile places on foot so wieght is a problem. The broadcaster is demanding that it has at least this spec.
• The recording resolution must be at least 3840×2160 pixels
• The frame rate must be 50 frames per second
• SMPTE ST 12-1:2008 time code must be used.
• The codec must use at least 4:2:2 sub sampling for the color difference signals
• The codec must use only intra-frame compression.
• Color bit depth of at least 10 bit.
• The codec must be at least 350Mb/s (VBR) in 50p.
• BT.2020 color representation

Blackmagic Video Assist 4K which has XLR ports and Panasonic GH5 is most affordable option, closest to your needs.
I’m sorry for mistake, Atomos Shogun Inferno is a way to go in this case.
Hi! I have a GH4. Love the image, but used to the ergonomics and easier focus for run and gun of a more traditional camcorder body. Rented the canon c100 Mark ii. Beautiful image. Focus is simpler, but face detection does not work with all lenses and there is no 4K. Found a deal on a nice used one, but wondering if there is something else that might suit me better. Checked out the DVX 200, but it’s a little large and heavy for me. Any recommendations of getting that gh4 look with easier, fast focus that is friendly for run and gun and less than four pounds? $3k budget. 4K is useful for doing post zooms and pans for me, but not absolutely essential. Thx
