Insta360 has launched its fifth-generation X series 360-degree action camera, touted as the toughest action camera yet.
This innovative device captures 8K30p video, delivering crisp cinematic footage and a rugged design that can withstand various conditions.

The heart of the Insta360 X5 360° action camera features dual 1/1.28 inch sensors equipped with Triple AI chips. These sensors can record 8K video at up to 30 frames per second.
Thanks to new AI algorithms, the camera excels at capturing fine details in extreme low light, producing what the company calls “crisp, cinematic footage in challenging lighting.”
These sensors are 144% larger than those in the previous X4 model, yet they offer the same level of processing power.
The chips utilize a 5nm manufacturing process, incorporating one AI chip and two professional image processors, resulting in clean, uncompressed images that are ready for sharing or editing to create a unique color-accurate story.

The camera features an auto-framed video image captured flat, allowing users to create custom color grades and maximize the dynamic range across the entire 360° spectrum. It also boasts 360° Horizon Lock and FlowState image stabilization, ensuring that the image appears natural and dramatic regardless of the camera’s position.
With Insta360’s cloud service, users can connect their camera to the cloud to facilitate near-real-time post-production. This integration allows them to frame the 8K video image, create high-resolution cinematic video clips or still images, and even produce the popular tiny planet representation with exceptional clarity.
By utilizing Insta360’s PureVideo noise reduction and dynamic range optimization features, the X5 can create smooth, sharp HDR video clips up to 5.7K/60p that maintain accurate colors.

Insta360 has introduced a new InstaFrame mode, enabling simultaneous recording of two video streams to generate both a flat, standard cinematic clip and a full 360° video clip.
This feature expands options for capturing moments that might be missed with a conventional flat image.
Regarding battery life, the X5 is powered by a 2400 mAh battery that supports up to 185 minutes of recording at 5.7K resolution.
It also includes a power-saving Endurance Mode to maximize recording time.
With super-fast charging capabilities, the camera can reach 80% charge in just 20 minutes.
