Blackmagic continues to refine its Camera operating system by adding support for the 17K Blackmagic URSA 65 Cinema Camera, which is currently available for preorder, with shipping anticipated later this year.

Camera 9.3

One of the most significant improvements in Blackmagic Camera version 9.3 is the support for the Blackmagic URSA Cine 17K 65 cinema camera.

This large-format camera now benefits from pixel recalibration, improved playback of proxy files for off-speed recordings, and enhanced exposure for bright light sources, such as traffic lights, recorded in 4K and 8K.

Furthermore, the Blackmagic PYXIS Monitor can now interface with the URSA Cine 17K 65 with complete compatibility.

The generation information menu page has also received updates, and Blackmagic RAW 4.5 has been incorporated into the URSA Cine 17K operating system, which now supports constant-quality recording settings.

However, the most exciting new feature may be that smartphone users can now control the camera remotely using the Blackmagic Camera app via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

This functionality not only provides shooters with a second camera but also allows camera operators to move freely while still controlling essential settings in the Cinema camera’s operating system.

DaVinci 19 Updates

Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve version 19.1.4 introduces several improvements and fixes, including enhancements to performance and bug resolutions.

Notable features include remote monitoring, hardware setup control panels, and the addition of Blackmagic RAW Player and Blackmagic Proxy Generator to the applications folder.

This update is available for both the free and paid versions of Resolve 19 Studio, providing high-performance processing and unlimited media file resolution settings.

However, mastering and outputting Ultra HD resolutions is restricted to a single processing GPU for the free edition on Windows and Linux.

Advanced tools, such as multiple GPU rendering, spatial noise reduction, AI-based functions, HDR support, voice isolation, and others, remain exclusive to Resolve 19 Studio.

The Blackmagic Camera 9.3 Update can be downloaded from the Blackmagic Support website. Minimum system requirements are macOS 14.0 Sonoma or later for Mac users, and Windows 10 64-bit or later for Windows users.
