DJI has just launched the Osmo Mobile 7 Series of handheld gimbals designed for smartphones and mobile filmmaking.
The seventh-generation handheld gimbal features three-axis stabilization and AI-driven subject tracking, allowing users to capture cinematic-quality content with modern smartphones.
Leading this new generation is the Osmo Mobile 7P. This model boasts more powerful gimbal stabilization motors integrated into a lightweight, extendable frame, and it offers the same subject-tracking capabilities as the OM6.

Additionally, the new Multifunctional Module can track subjects and includes an innovative light control scheme, providing integrated control over color temperature and brightness levels.
Active Track 7.0 is the latest AI-driven algorithm that detects multiple subjects, tracking them within the frame while pinpointing their location and adjusting for changes in direction.
It can identify humans, animals, and other moving targets, effortlessly switching focus between them as they move.

The Multifunctional Module also supports gesture control, allowing users to trigger ActiveTrack, take photos or videos, and adjust framing to stay centered in the shot.
It serves a dual purpose as a wireless microphone receiver, with an optional USB-C port that connects to a mobile phone, facilitating high-fidelity wireless microphone transmission.
The 7P features a foldable design for easy portability and has an integrated extension rod that extends for “selfie mode.”
This allows users to capture shots from arm’s length or achieve low-angle and high-angle perspectives for more cinematic options.
Through the DJI app, filmmakers can utilize DJI’s Shot Guides to enhance their cinematic shots.

ShotGuides automatically analyzes the shooting scenario and recommends shot sequences, providing tutorials on how to execute various templates and capture content like a professional.
The gimbals also include intelligent shooting modes such as Timelapse, Panorama, and Dynamic Zoom.
Additional features include the DJI OM Magnetic Quick Release Mount for quick setups, remote control through the DJI Mimo watch app, a parents and kids mode for special family moments, a light module for adding illumination in low light, instant camera angle switching for rear camera selfies with a triple-click on the camera trigger, live streaming capabilities via the DJI app, and a built-in tripod.
The standard Osmo Mobile 7 retains many of these features but lacks the extension rod, magnetic quick-release mount, and built-in tripod.
Both models offer up to 10 hours of battery life for nearly all-day shooting and include a USB-C port for phantom charging.
The Osmo Mobile 7P weighs 368 grams, while the Osmo Mobile 7 weighs 300 grams.
