Revolutionary V90 UHS-II SD Card Sets New Standard with 2TB Capacity

Team Group has announced the launch of the world’s first 2TB v90 SDXC card.

The T-Create Expert SDXC UHS-II V90 SD Card promises fast read and write speeds for 8K video, offering ample storage to accommodate the larger file sizes associated with high-resolution content.

Based in China, Team Group specializes in creating RAM and media cards tailored for high-performance applications, including gaming, video and still photography, and graphic design.

Although the brand may be relatively unknown outside of China, Team Group has quietly surpassed leading manufacturers to reach the 2TB milestone for high-speed UHS-II media.

Higher speed and capacity

In an era dominated by 8K content, having a card with such substantial storage is highly appealing.

However, as the camera-to-cloud revolution takes hold in the industry – due to its ability to accelerate post-production workflows – the role of larger media cards often shifts to archival functions.

They are primarily used for saving uncompressed original camera files, which can later replace lower-resolution proxy files during the editing process. This is where the T-Create Expert card excels.

With a V90 speed rating, the 2TB T-Create Expert SDXC card delivers read speeds of up to 300 MB/s and write speeds of up to 260 MB/s.

It is engineered for ultra-high-resolution video capture, including 8K Raw video and high-resolution Raw still images, both of which demand significant storage space.

“Using an advanced pSLC technique,” the website states, “data is written stably without speed reduction and supports UHS speed class 3 (U3) and video speed class V90 to ensure undisrupted recordation of every moment.”

The 2TB card can record 6K video at up to 59.94P for as long as two hours and eight minutes, with a maximum bit rate of 2,190 Mbps.

This makes the T-Create Expert media card an attractive option for newsgathering camera operators, event videographers, and interviewers.

Additionally, its high read speed ensures faster and more consistent file transfers and is backward compatible with UHS-I cameras and video recorders.

The media card boasts a robust design, allowing it to withstand challenging conditions. It features an IP67 rating for dust and moisture resistance and is built to endure shock, extreme temperatures, and X-rays during travel.

Furthermore, Team Group provides a data recovery service within the 5-year warranty period, offering an added layer of protection in the unlikely event that any cards become corrupted.

Team Group also has its USB Type-C 3.2 Gen2 x2 SD Media Card reader, which is capable of transferring up to 300 MB/S per second for MicroSD and SD cards and up to 2GB per second for CFexpress Type B media formats.

The reader has a Type-C Gen 2 cable connection and is compatible with Thunderbolt 3/4 port connectivity.

Pricing and Availability

The pricing and availability of the 2TB T-Create Expert SDXC UHS-II V90 SD Card have not yet been announced.

However, it is anticipated to be priced higher than 2TB UHS-1 cards, which are currently available for around $300.

Expect the V90 version of the T-Create Expert to cost at least between $400 and $600 or possibly more when it finally launches.
