ProGrade Digital, a renowned media card company, is broadening its range of media peripherals with the launch of the P20 Pro Thunderbolt 4 Media Hub.
This innovative hub is specifically crafted to enhance professional content creation workflows, delivering ample power to charge a laptop along with up to three additional mobile devices.
To ensure a tidy workspace, the PG20 Pro seamlessly integrates with ProGrade’s highly-regarded media card readers.
Wes Brewer, Founder and CEO of ProGrade Digital Inc., stated, “While the marketplace for Thunderbolt 4-based hubs is quite saturated, we took the time to consider how professionals utilize our card readers and what they need to maintain an organized workspace while designing our new PG20 Pro Hub.”
Utilizing a patented magnetic base, the design allows for customization, enabling users to mix and match their card readers according to their unique needs, all while promoting a clean and efficient working environment.
The ProGrade PG20 Pro boasts an impressive 85-watt output port alongside three 15-watt USB-C ports.
Thanks to Thunderbolt 4 technology, users can experience lightning-fast media transfer speeds of up to 40 Gbps.
This hub works with both macOS and Windows operating systems and can be paired effectively with ProGrade’s latest PG10.5 and PG30 SSDs, offering further expansion options.
“With the three downstream Thunderbolt 4/USB 4.0 ports,” Brewer noted, “the hub can accommodate two of our USB readers while still maintaining one port free for additional peripherals.”
In addition to these features, the ProGrade PG20 Pro includes a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port and supports connections for up to two ProGrade media card readers on top.
It leverages USB4.0 high-speed data cables for enhanced cable management that is both compact and efficient.
To facilitate quick connections, the hub comes with a single high-speed data cable that is Thunderbolt 4 certified.
Among the key features, the hub includes:
- One Thunderbolt 4/USB 4.0 85W charging upstream port
- Three Thunderbolt 4 USB 4.0 15W downstream ports capable of 40 Gbps
- One USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port offering 10 Gbps
- A magnetic top base that allows customization with up to two ProGrade Digital readers
- A Thunderbolt 4 certified high-speed cable included
- Support for up to an 8K display at 60 Hz
- Compatibility with Windows 11 and macOS 11 and above
- Kensington Standard and Nano security slots
- An external power source included
Supporting an 8K display output at 60 Hz allows for ultra-high-definition workflows, ensuring that editing sessions remain efficient without the hassle of delayed ingesting.
For added convenience, the hub includes an adhesive metal plate, which can be affixed to a desk to keep it securely in place.
