ARRI Launches Artemis 2 Live Camera Stabilizer

ARRI has announced the ARTEMIS 2 Live, a compact and lightweight camera stabilizer specifically designed for live productions, including sporting events, concerts, and other similar events.

The ARTEMIS 2 is fully modular and upgradeable, thereby enabling camera operators to transform it into more cinematic steady cam-style setups, such as a fully configured ARTEMIS 2 or the more cinematic TRINITY 2.

This versatility provides shooters with expanded options for various work opportunities.

As an entry point into ARRI’s Camera Stabilizer Systems, the ARTEMIS 2 Live is highly adaptable to the demands of any production, be it a live event or a cinematic project.

Its ergonomic, minimalist construction does not compromise ruggedness or dependability, thanks to ARRI’s engineering philosophy, which has resulted in the creation of the “most compact and agile high-end camera stabilizer ever built.”

The ARTEMIS 2 Live stabilizer features shorter 1.8-inch-wide posts for improved tactile control, allowing greater freedom of movement with a more natural gate.

Its lightweight monitor brackets and mounts accommodate monitors up to seven inches from brands such as TransVideo, SmallHD, and Smart Systems.

Additionally, a secondary bracket supports an extra five-inch “on-air” monitor for live production setups, while functions like TALLY and LBUS enable hybrid lens control for both ENG and Cine zoom lenses.

Being fully modular, the ARTEMIS 2 Live can be configured into a variety of ready-to-shoot setups and supports the Tiffent Volt.

It can accommodate different power sources, including V Mount and Gold Mount batteries, depending on what the shooter has invested in or what is available at the shooting location.

ARRI does not differentiate between live, television, or cinematic productions, making all ARTEMIS 2 Live components compatible with ARRI’s cine-style stabilizers.

This design philosophy allows for interchangeability with the TRINITY 2, incorporating similar electronic stabilization motors for more complex camera movements.

The brackets and accessories are compatible across the entire ARRI CSS product range, enabling shooters to upgrade their systems without needing to reinvest in new accessories and mounts.

They can completely outfit the stabilizer to form a fully featured ARTEMIS configuration, suitable for larger camera setups traditionally used in film and television.

Moreover, the design of the fully outfitted ARTEMIS 2 and TRINITY 2 can be easily converted to an A2 Live configuration using the ARTEMIS 2 Live Conversion kit.

This flexibility opens up the entire ARRI CSS product catalog for various production needs. The ARTEMIS 2 Live can support maximum camera payloads of up to 40 kg (88 lbs).

Pricing and availability

Though ARRI stopped short of announcing a retail price for the ARTEMIS 2 Live, the more fully featured ARTEMIS 2 retails for around $20,000.

So, it’s logical to assume the Live setup is designed to be positioned under that price point. The gimbal system is available now through ARRI and its network of authorized retailers. For locations and more information, please visit www.arri.com/artemis2live.
