Atomos’ Ninja Phone Receives Frame.io C2C Certification

Atomos has announced that its new Ninja Phone Video CoProcessing Module now supports Frame.io Camera to Cloud integration, thanks to official certification through Adobe.

The Ninja Phone interface is compatible with the latest iPhone and iPad Pro models, allowing them to function as a monitor recorder while streaming real-time uploads of original camera files and proxies to the cloud.

This innovative system combines Atomos processing technology with the Apple iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max, transforming the device into an external monitor and recorder capable of 10-bit Apple ProRes encoding from any professional HDMI camera source.

The Ninja Phone system consists of two key components: the Atomos Ninja Phone Video Co-Processor and a durable mounting case designed for social media creators and video professionals.

The case features multiple cold shoe mounts for accessories and includes a standard battery to power the Ninja Phone module. Together, these elements create a robust and portable solution for high-quality video recording.

To operate the system, users simply download the Atomos Ninja Phone app, which provides full control over camera and encoding settings, allowing users to choose between ProRes and H.265 formats.

The Ninja Phone module accepts HDMI signals from any camera and encodes them into the selected video codec, ensuring seamless integration into professional workflows.

ProRes-encoded video files can be stored as .mov files on the iPhone or transcoded to 10-bit H.265 for workflows that require camera-to-cloud support via Frame.io, Adobe’s cloud-based collaboration tool that helps creative teams organize, review, centralize, and manage media throughout the creative process.

To link to Frame.io for camera-to-cloud integration, users log in to their Frame.io account through the Atomos Ninja Phone app, select the appropriate compression settings, and start filming.

“We’ve aimed to make it intuitive to match the iOS experience,” said Atomos CEO Jeromy Young. “Camera to Cloud is all about saving time, and with the Ninja Phone and Frame.io, you don’t sacrifice quality.”

To celebrate the Ninja Phone’s new Frame C2C Certification, Adobe is offering a complimentary three-month extended trial of the Frame.io V4 pro plan upon registration of the Ninja Phone and the creation of a new Frame.io account.

This offer is effective immediately. The Ninja Phone Video CoProcessor is $$399, while the companion iPhone 15 Pro case is an additional $59.
