Apple is enhancing its iMac lineup by doubling the RAM capacity and upgrading the processor to the latest M4 Apple Silicon, which now supports Apple Intelligence.
Additionally, in line with the rumors, Apple’s new Mac Mini has been downsized to a palm-sized form while boosting performance.

The M4 iMac
Starting with the base model, the 24-inch iMac features the standard M4 processor, which includes four performance CPU cores and four efficiency cores.
This configuration offers a balance of speed and energy efficiency, making it ideal for everyday tasks like web browsing, content creation, and basic productivity.

Moreover, the base model comes with an 8-core GPU, providing enough graphical power for light gaming, graphic design, or video editing.
Apple claims that the base M4 model delivers performance up to 2.5 times better than the M1 iMac for video editing or gaming and four times better for more routine tasks.
For an additional $200, users can upgrade to the mid-tier iMac configuration, which adds two more efficiency cores and two extra GPU cores.
This upgrade enhances the system’s overall performance and graphical capabilities, making it suitable for users requiring additional computational power for video editing, 3D rendering, or other intensive tasks.
Apple now allows users to expand the base RAM from 16GB to a maximum of 32GB, while storage can be configured up to 2TB, providing ample space for media libraries, applications, and larger projects.
However, the base model is limited to 256GB of internal storage, so opting for external storage may be wise.

The mid-tier model features four Thunderbolt 4 ports, offering greater flexibility for connecting additional peripherals, displays, or high-speed external storage solutions.
In contrast, the base model includes two USB 3 ports alongside its Thunderbolt ports for standard peripherals like printers and wired accessories.
Apple has retained the impressive 4.5K Retina display on the 24-inch iMac, which features 500 nits of brightness and supports the P3 color gamut.
This sharp, vivid display is well-suited for photo editing, media consumption, and creative work.
Another advantage of choosing the mid-tier iMac with a 10-core GPU is the ability to connect up to two 6K60p displays or a single 8K display at 120 Hz, making it an excellent option for users looking for a multi-display setup to enhance productivity.

M4 and M4 Pro Mac Mini
As anticipated, Apple has also released its next-generation Mac Mini, now in a compact 5×5-inch size, similar to the Apple TV hockey puck.
Available with either the standard M4 or the new M4 Pro Apple Silicon chip, the new Mac Mini promises CPU performance that is twice as fast as the first gen M1 model and up to 2.2 times faster in GPU performance.
Apple promotes it as the world’s first carbon-neutral Mac.
The Super Compact Mini features a 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, and a 16-core neural engine, and starts with 16GB of unified RAM to handle higher-performance tasks like video editing and music production.
The Pro Level M4 Mini boosts its specs to 14 cores, with 10 performance cores and four efficiency cores, while the GPU includes up to 20 cores, making it twice as powerful as the standard M4 Mini.
It also supports 64GB of memory and Thunderbolt 5.

Price and Availability
The 24-inch iMac starts at $1,299 and is available in seven vibrant colors: blue, purple, pink, orange, yellow, green, and silver.
For an additional $200, users can upgrade to the four-port model, which provides enhanced connectivity options, additional storage, and improved performance capabilities.
Users can also add up to 24GB of RAM for an extra $200, and the mid-tier model can include the nano-texture overlay for an additional fee.
The Mac Mini starts at $599 for the 10-core model with 16GB of unified memory and 256GB SSD storage.
Users can boost the RAM starting at an additional $400 or storage for an additional $200. The 12-core M4 Pro Mac Mini starts at $1,399.
Discounts are also available for educators and students. Preorders for all models are currently open, with delivery set to begin on November 8.
