Last year, Cooke introduced the affordable SP3 Cine Lens set, which is based on its iconic Cooke Panchro/i Classic series optical design.
The original 5-lens set now has a sixth member with the introduction of the Cooke SP3 18mm T2.4, its widest lens to date.
The Cooke SP3 Cinema line comprises 18mm, 25mm, 32mm, 50mm, 75mm, and 100mm primes, each with a T-stop of T2.4.

These cinema lenses offer full-frame coverage and dual focus and iris rings, and they are suitable for use with Sony E, Canon RF, Leica M, and L mount lenses thanks to a simple, user-interchangeable mount design.

The iconic Speed Panchro optical design is lighter and more compact than its predecessor, while still maintaining a field of view that covers end to end.
Its 9-bladed iris aperture offers a smooth, buttery bokeh through Cooke’s coveted optical coatings, providing the hallmark “Cooke look” with close focus distance and a deep depth of field with dynamic fall-off at the extreme edges.
The coatings also ensure flare control and color matching for optimal skin tone and character.

The SP3 line features industry-standard .8 MOD focus and iris gears, providing non-linear focus with precise control that is compatible with numerous third-party FIZ lens control systems and tactile, minute focusing at minimum focus.
Cooke is adding the 18mm T2.4, which offers a 99° field of view (88° for Super35), an iris rotation of 78°, and a focus rotation of 160°. It has a front diameter of 82mm, an overall length of 109mm, and weighs just 688g (1.51 lbs).
The lens joins its SP3 brethren in being old-school and unabashedly so. Focus scales are marked on both feet and meters for easy reading and setting focus points.
Cooke is also going all manual with the SP3, offering no autofocus or metadata contact points to transmit information, opting in favor of making optical resolution and color clarity the priority.
Pricing and availability
The Cooke SP3 18mm T2.4 is available for preorder at a retail price of $4,970.00 with free 2-day shipping. The expanded Cooke SP3 Six Lens Set, which includes the 18mm, 25mm, 32mm, 50mm, 75mm, and 100mm T2.4 primes, is available for preorder at a retail price of $25,995.00.
It comes with a standard E-Mount lens mount, and for a limited time, users will receive an interchangeable RF mount. The RF mount, however, is currently on backorder due to limited availability. Additional mounts for Leica L and M mounts are also available. Individually, the other lenses retail for $4,500 each.
