Multi-camera remote control

With the new version 2.0, the Blackmagic Camera app allows content creators to remotely control and monitor multiple iPhone cameras running the app, all connected over a secure network.

The update also adds support for Apple Silicon-based iPad Pros, which can serve as the central hub for monitoring and controlling the iPhones. The larger iPad can function as a technical director’s panel for setting up and controlling multi-camera shoots, all from a single central point.

High Frame Rate and other features

Furthermore, the update enables high frame rate of up to 100 fps rate recording at 1080p for the iPhone 15 Pro. The Blackmagic Camera app now also allows batch copying or deleting of multiple clips in the media tab, which helps to speed up the post-production workflow and manage storage more effectively.

Additionally, the app supports instant upload of proxy files and original camera files to Blackmagic Cloud Storage.

Lastly, Blackmagic has made housekeeping improvements to enhance the overall performance and stability of the app.

Requirements

The Blackmagic Camera App is available for both iOS and Android. However, this specific update is compatible with iPhones running iOS 17.0 or later with the A12 Bionic chip or later.

For iPads, the update is compatible with devices running on the A12 Bionic Chip or later, when operating iPadOS 17.0. Apple’s Vision Pro headset running on visionOS 1.0 or later is also supported.
