Designed for 8K Cinematography, the Sprite 24-96mm zoom offers a focal coverage that spans most of the image range, with a parfocal constant aperture of T2.9 to provide better performance in lower light settings.

The lens comprises 21 elements organized in 16 groups, with a 13-bladed aperture for smooth, cinematic bokeh. There are also .8 MOD gears for focus, zoom, and aperture.
The gears have a 240° throw for focusing, 100° for zoom, and 90° for aperture.
The aperture gear has been de-clicked for cinema applications, and the design also minimizes focus breathing, ensuring a seamless viewing experience for the audience.
Additionally, the lens offers a 4X optical zoom that is distortion-free, particularly at the extreme ends of the focal length.

While it’s a fully manual lens with no circuitry for autofocus, image stabilization, or metadata, the Sprite 24-96mm T2.9 maintains consistent focus throughout the zoom range once it has been set. It offers Super35mm coverage with additional coverage for larger, full-frame platforms with a slight zoom-in.

The lens includes dual focus marks in both feet and meters, along with an 86mm filter thread that can be used to attach a matte box.
Weighing just 2.3 kg, the lens is light enough to be used on a handheld stabilizer for smooth camera movement. It offers a minimum focusing distance of just over 3 feet (1 meter) and an angle of view of 18-66°.
The lens comes in either PL or EF-mounted options, but 7 Artisans also offers adapter rings to expand the camera support to E-mount, Z Mount, RF, and L-mount cameras, for easy conversation on the fly.
