Sony Releases Firmware Correction to Audio Issue in the FX6 Cinema Camera

Audiences are willing to tolerate many imperfections when watching a movie, but poor sound is not one of them.

So when content creators using the Sony FX6 reported an audio issue in the FX6 Cinema Camera, Sony knew they had to promptly update the firmware.

The Sony PXW FX6 features a full-frame 10.2-megapixel image sensor capable of capturing 4K Raw at up to 120 frames per second, offering up to 15+ stops of dynamic range, and 10-bit 4:2:2 color science with bit rates of up to 600 Mb/s.

The camera is compact, lightweight, and well-suited for shooting on location.

A recent issue surfaced in the FX6, where under certain conditions, the camera would inadvertently switch the audio from channel 2 from Input 2 to LINE.

Update 5.01 addresses this issue, preventing the switching without the operator’s knowledge.
