Imagine Entertainment, Adobe, and The Film Zone have announced a new short film competition called From Minutes to Movies ShortFest.
This competition aims to help short film creators get their work noticed and potentially turned into feature-length films under the mentorship of Hollywood filmmakers.
The competition will provide cash prizes, mentorship, and opportunities for the winners to develop their short films into full-length feature films, documentaries, or TV shows.

Prizes:
First Place: $7,500, assistance from Imagine Entertainment in shopping for the entrant’s treatment, a trip to attend Adobe MAX 2024 in Miami, Florida (October 14-16), mentorship from Imagine Entertainment and Adobe executives, and a 1-year Adobe Creative Cloud subscription.
Second Place: $5,000, a trip to attend Adobe MAX, mentorship sessions from Adobe and Imagine Entertainment, and a 1-year Adobe Creative Cloud subscription.
Third Place: $2,500, a trip to attend Adobe MAX, mentorship sessions from Adobe and Imagine Entertainment, and a 1-year Adobe Creative Cloud subscription.
Additionally, there will be an Audience Award which will include a free 1-year Adobe Creative Cloud subscription. Imagine will also help pursue financing and worldwide distribution for the winning entry.
Rules:
Participants must create a short film of up to 25 minutes with no genre restrictions, but it should embody the thematic perspective of inspiring human achievement and celebrating inclusivity.
The contest is free to enter, but all entries must be original and filmed within the last two years.
Participants must be over 18 and legal US residents. Each entrant can only be a member of one team.
The winners will be determined by a panel of judges, including creative executives from Imagine Entertainment, and representatives from Adobe and The Film Zone.
The top ten entries will be shared on Instagram through The Film Zone, Imagine Entertainment, and Adobe communities.
The contest will run from July 9th to August 25th, with the winning entry announced on or about September 23rd. The awards event will take place on October 14-16, presumably at Adobe MAX in Miami.
