Photo accessories company MIOPS has a new camera grip for the iPhone which not only promises an ergonomic photographic experience for mobile content creators but is also MagSafe for mounting recharging.
The MIOPS Spark grip is designed with multiple buttons for menu and remote operations and promises the same level of experience as a real camera.
“Whether you’re chasing storms, exploring nocturnal landscapes, or marveling at the majestic display of lightning, Spark enables you to embrace the magic of the moment and immortalize it with the exceptional capabilities of your iPhone,” states the MIOPS Kickstarter page.
“No more missed opportunities or reliance on specialized equipment — Spark ensures that you’re always prepared to document those awe-inspiring flashes of nature’s power.”
The MIOPS Spark is designed to work in concert with the MIOPS mobile photo app, with an array of buttons that can be programmed for adjustments to various camera functions in your favorite iPhone camera app.
Functions include exposure settings, manual focus, and white balance, as well as more advanced features such as histogram, focus peaking, and zebra striping.
However, the buttons can also be programmed for photo editing functions like subject removal and photo stacking. The app also offers several digital filters, a level and tilt utility, and a grid overlay.
It supports HDR, bokeh portrait mode, burst modes, and the ability to light paint using the light trail feature. All photos can also be saved in ProRaw, RAW, TIFF, or JPEG.
There is also a remote app for interfacing with the Apple Watch. As for battery life, the Kickstarter page claims that the Spark has a battery life of over a year between charging, which is quite the boast.
The MIOPS Spark is compatible with iPhones beginning with the iPhone 8 and iPhone SE, and it requires iOS 16 or later. There is also a 1/4-20 tripod mount on the bottom for easy mounting.

The MIOPS Spark is currently being crowdfunded on Kickstarter with an early bird backing price of $99. For an additional $10, users can get the “Kickstarter pack” which includes optional add-ons and a 10% discount on the regular retail price.
