DJI is only scratching the surface of what it can do with its revolutionary Ronin 4D Cinema Camera and has released a trio of new accessories including a new LiDAR 4D Expansion Plate, Range Finder Cable Hub, and 3-Channel Follow Focus controller to dial in the camera’s autofocus within 3D space and with minimal latency.
The accessories are designed to reduce setup and range calibration, by routing all metadata through a centralized routing box with minimal cable connections.

The DJI Ronin 4D Cinema Camera is the world’s first four-axis cinematic platform which incorporates gimbal-operated image stabilization directly into the camera’s architecture.
Through the camera’s full-frame Zenmuse X9 gimbal camera, users can capture cinematic Raw and ProRes 8K and 6K footage at up to 75 frames per second, and 4K video at up to 120 fps.
The camera’s LiDAR Range Finder continuously generates precise laser measurements of up to 43,200 ranging points as far as 10 meters away for a sharper, faster, and more reliable focus.

And through the use of this trio of accessories, the Ronin 4D will offer greater compatibility with additional camera tools to streamline the camera’s workflow without low latency to ensure image quality and focusing accuracy.

LiDAR Range Finder to Transmission Cable Hub
This centralized routing box features four 1.3-foot cables to connect the LiDAR Rangefinder, DJI Video Transmitter, Focus Motor, and the 12-17V D-Tap power supply that drives them all.
The hub supports inter-device communication with accurate focus control and lens calibration based on the metadata gleaned within the 3D space. There is also a USB-C connector for adding a DJI RS3 Pro Gimbal.

3-Channel Follow Focus
The new DJI 3-Channel Follow Focus Controller enables minute and smooth control of the Ronin 4D optics, and can also adjust the zoom, aperture iris, and integrated focus through the focus wheel, a slider, and programmed rocker buttons.
There are also three marking rings to make custom markings on the focus wheel assembly.

Ronin 4D Expansion Plate
The Ronin 4D Expansion Plate offers multiple connections for a variety of accessories including a BNC Timecode Port, a BNC SDI output, and dual XLR inputs.
Each XLR port supports 48-volt phantom power and can support a wide variety of microphones and audio sources.
Pricing and Availability
The DJI LiDAR Range Finder to Transmission Cable Hub is available for preorder at a retail price of $89.00. The DJI 3-Channel Follow Focus Controller retails for $909. Lastly, the Ronin 4D Expansion Plate lists for $489. All three accessories come with a one-year limited warranty and are listed as shipping “soon.”
