With NAB 2023 right around the corner, Marshall Electronics is previewing its latest lineup of professional broadcast monitors.
Chief of these rack-mounted offerings is the ML-454-V2 a multi-screen, multi-rack unit that promises to be an economical solution for control rooms, routing rooms, and other studio configurations.
The ML-454-V2
The two-track, four-screen 4.5-inch LCD monitor with a resolution of 1280×720, and supports both SD and HD video up to 1080p60.
Connections include multiple looping video inputs, multiple SDI connectors, tally connections, and a logical menu structure for drilling down into the unit’s various features.
Marshall says that contrary to competing designs, the 454-V2 won’t force users to rely on a single SDI connection, but rather, have dedicated connections to eliminate the guesswork or hunting around settings to adjust connections.
The ML-503
Also featured at this year’s professional confab in Las Vegas is the triple display 5-inch ML-503. Using a tilt mount and taking up only two rack units, the 503 has 3G-SDI, HDMI, and AV inputs, with all digital loop inputs throughout.
Compact and powerful, the ML–503 is ideal for broadcast trucks with front panel control access for all functions. The 503 also sports three-color tally lights (red, green, and yellow).
The ML-702
Next in the Marshall lineup is the ML-702, a dual 7-inch monitor with multiple input types that can fit within a five-inch 3RU rack space courtesy of its integral tilt mount. offers 3G-SDI, HDMI, and AV inputs with active digital looping output. There are also standard power and tally connections, and a similar feature menu structure.
Marshall has also released a wider model known as the V-702W12G, which is a dual seven-inch LCD with 12-G compatible connections.
The dual monitor offers a host of analysis functions including waveform, vectorscope, audio phase, HDR Modes, S-Log conversions, and support for custom user LUTs with split screen comparison. It also offers audio bars with 16 tracks for SDI and 8 for HDMI displayed. There is also timecode decoding and display with low latency.
The ML702 and V702W12G offer a compact, slim design that is 3RU deep, features two 1920×1200 color displays, and incorporates a peaking filter, selectable markers, and 1:1 pixel mapping.
There are also overscan and H/V delay modes, audio de-embedding and built-in LED three-color tally lights.
