Nanlite Introduces Six New LED Spotlights in New Forza II Line

LED Light manufacturer Nanlite has introduced the new Forza II line that incorporates changes to improve overall performance and reliability.

The new line of lights includes six new LED Spotlights and two PavoTube LED tube lights.

Compact and light, the Forza II line includes a Forza 60 II and 60 B II Bi-color light, plus brighter variants in the 300 II and 300 B II alongside 500 II and 500 B II lights.

The new models are the same size and compact form factor as the previous Forza models, but with updated circuitry for improved power efficiency, giving the Forza 60 II lights up to 28.5 percent long running times.

The Forza 60II lights can run on conventional AC or D-Tap power cables, as well as compact Sony NP-F batteries via the included handgrip, or V-mount batteries.

The lights also have built-in Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz WiFi connectivity and can be controlled remotely.

There’s also control from a mode control button and a redesigned fan system that runs at 10db quieter.

Meanwhile, the mid-level Forza 300II and 300B II lights are slightly longer and wider by a half inch, and incorporate a new control unit that Nanlite says is “radically different” than the previous models.

That difference in design offers superior performance with highly accurate color and light balance, with higher CRI and TLCI ratings.

The control units are 37 percent smaller with integrated power supplies, side-mounted V-Mount battery plates, and a fanless cooling design.

The lights can run on one or two different 14.8v batteries and all the cables are attached on top to keep them out of the way. Speaking of which, the cables for the 300 series are longer, with head cables measuring 9.8 feet and power cables running nearly 20 feet long.

Nanlight also says the 300 II series also enjoys an innovative and unique W(RG) and WW(RG) for green to magenta light adjustments, which the company claims are the world’s first 5600K bi-color LED spotlight with +/- 80 adjustment range, a bonus at this price range.

The 300B II also has a light chamber for managing a variety of different colored LEDs. The Chip on Board (COB) lights are also glass protected.

Moving to the 500 series, the higher-end models come in both daylight and bi-color variants, and have similar features as the 300 series, including W(RG) and WW(RG) light sources, +/- 80 green-to-magenta adjustment, and LED light chambers for adding extra LED colors.

And like the 300 series, the 500 series has newly designed yokes, step-less locks, and a greater tilting range with larger modifiers. The 500 series also adds fine-tuning of brightness in .1% increments, similar to that of the first generation Forza 700 series.

Lastly, the Nanlite PavoTube II lights boast a 48 percent brighter design, with the two-foot 15C II, and 42% brighter design with the four-foot 30C II. The lights have internal diffusion, and smaller endcaps to manage the light into a single source with no hotspots.

The lights also have an expanded CCT range of 2700-6500K and a green to magenta adjustment range of +/- 150, with 15 built-in effects, three times more than the previous PavoTube design. The lights also have dedicated button knob controls for Adjust, Switch, and Mode, as well as a lock button to keep the settings dialed in until changed.

The lights also have a CRI rating of 97, a TLCI rating of 98, and TM-30 Rf/Rg ratings of 94 and 101 respectively.

Pricing and availability

Pricing for the Forza II line is listed at $289 for the Forza 60 II and $319 for the Forza 60B II. The 300 series has an MSRP of $949 for the Forza 300 II and $999 for the 300B II. Both series are available beginning today.

The Nanlite PavoTube II led lights are also available starting today at a retail price of $219 for the 15C, while there is no word on the price of the 30C.
