You can’t buy an action camera without picking up some accessories. The design of GoPros, including the just released HERO11 Black, mean that while they can be used handheld they are really meant to be mounted or kitted up to make the most of them. Mounts, remotes, filters, batteries, and more should all be on your wish list.
If you want a rundown of some of the best accessories for the GoPro HERO11 Black, here is a list of 11 from filmmaker Danny Black. You’ll be a lot happier with your action cam if you buy it a few presents.
For the HERO11 there are going to be 11 different accessories in this list. Fortunately, the HERO11 has the same form factor as the HERO10 and the HERO9.
If you have existing accessories you might already be ready to roll. For example, like the 72-in-1 Accessory Kit he recommended last year for the HERO10. That bundle might be the best place to start and end your search.

1. GoPro Necklace
One of his most used accessories is a magnetic necklace. You can snap your GoPro on and get a quick POV shot without much hassle.

The necklace itself is comfortable, so you shouldn’t have any issues with it around your neck.
2. Batteries and Chargers
Next up is power. You’ll likely have a handful of batteries to carry around and charge up.
ZGCINE has a nice PS-G10 Charging Case that will hold a trio of batteries and you can plug in the case to charge them all. Plus, there is a battery in the unit itself for charging on the go.

3. GravGrip
An action camera-specific device, the GravGrip V2 uses gravity to keep the GoPro stable and leveled out, even when mounted on a pole. This makes it easier to capture a jib-like shot.

4. TELESIN Claw Clamp
For handlebars or anything else that is under 2” you can grab the TELESIN Claw Clamp which will grab onto anything and provide a mounting point for your GoPro. It’s lightweight and strong plus it has a dual ball design that is very easy to adjust.

5. INKEE Falcon Plus Gimbal
While GoPros do have incredible stabilization technology, it can always improve through the use of real stabilization.
The INKEE Falcon Plus is a great example of a compact gimbal designed for action cams and has some of its own cool features, including remote control from your smartphone.

6. Filters
To take your action cam cinematography to the next level you’ll want to invest in some filters. ND filters allow you to cut some light and use a slower shutter speed. This will give you the motion blur that is common in “cinematic” footage.

7. Case
Just because GoPros are tough doesn’t mean they deserve to just be tossed around in your bag all day. Get a case for it. Here are three options: a metal case, a silicone case, and a travel case. Pick whichever one you like best.

8. Remote
Not always necessary if you tend to keep your GoPro in arm’s reach, but a remote can come in handy to get it rolling when you have it set up away from you. One neat trick is the ability to start and stop multiple GoPros at the same time.

This remote also shows the recording time, lets you cycle through presets, and more. It’s a nice little remote and will work from over 200’ away.
9. Suction Mount
Something that can come in handy is a suction cup mount. These are great for mounting a GoPro to a car or window and won’t damage the surface. TELESIN also makes super heavy duty version with three suction cups you might want to check out.

10. Light
Sometimes you’ll need just a touch of fill light to illuminate your subject. A small light is the perfect solution. GoPro makes their own, the Light Mod, which can easily attach and is a good solution.
Alternatively, there is a TELESIN RGB LED Light that will give you a bit more control over the color of the light if that’s what you want.

11. Volta
This is a relatively new product from GoPro, and it is great. The Volta is a handle, battery, mount, and more for the GoPro. They did a lot with a seemingly simple item and it shows. Highly recommended to pick up if you are getting serious about using your GoPro.
