This is a great piece of news for those Lumix shooters who are eagerly expecting the next iteration of their favorite Micro 4/3 mirrorless camera for almost a year now! Panasonic has just confirmed that the GH6 will be finally announced on February Feb 22 at 1 am UTC.
Back in May 2021, when the official GH5 II announcement was made, the company spilled the beans on the upcoming LUMIX GH6 by stating that the model was in a development phase without unveiling much more details.
According to Panasonic, the LUMIX GH6 will deliver next-generation video performance built to satisfy a wide variety of creative requirements, redefining the possibilities for video recording in an interchangeable lens camera.
Some of the improvements should include a brand new Micro 4/3 sensor combined with a more powerful processing engine capable of delivering internal 4K DCI/UHD 4:2:2 10-bit up to 60fps, 5.7K 10-bit up to 60p, 4K 120p HFR and VFR, and much more.
It seems that we’ll find out what exactly Panasonic have up their sleeve in less than two weeks time, so stay tuned.
