This is another great news for Canon EOS C70 owners who soon will be able to capture internal 12-bit Cinema RAW Light 4K videos alongside simultaneous 10-bit XF-AVC proxy files.
Currently, the EOS C70 is limited to XF-AVC 4:2:2 10-bit recording (along with H.264 and XF-AVC Proxy options) but in March with an upcoming firmware update, this is about to change.
All in all, the camera will be able to record in Cinema RAW Light LT up to 4K 60p, Cinema RAW Light ST up to 4K 30p, and Cinema RAW Light HQ limited to 2K 60p in Super 16 mode.
Other enhancements that the Canon EOS C70 will get with the imminent firmware update include interval and frame recording options, increased lens support when using the 0.71x Mount Adapter as well as EOS Standard and EOS Neautral Picture Profiles.
The next Canon C70 update should be available to download in March 2022.
