DJI has just rolled out their latest offering – the Air 2S drone. The newcomer boasts a 1-inch 20MP sensor capable of shooting 10-bit 5.4K video up to 30fps as well as 4K up to 60fps at a maximum bitrate of 150MB/s. The built-in 22mm (equivalent) lens has a fixed f/2.8 aperture that produces a FOV of 88°.
Furthermore, DJI Air 2S users can pick from three different picture profiles – Normal (8-bit), D-Log (10-bit), and HLG (10-bit). Additionally, H.264 and H.265 codecs are available as recording options. Needless to say, the ability to shoot 10-bit video is a pretty enticing feature requested by a multitude of professional aerial videographers and enthusiasts alike.
On top, DJI Air 2S supports 4X zoom at 4K 30fps, 6X at 2.7K 30fps, 4X at 2.7K 60fps, 6X at 1080P 60fps and 8X at 1080P 30fps. The all-new drone is also equipped with forward, backward, upward, and downward sensors along with APAS 4.0 technology enabling it to avoid obstacles in a wide variety of environments.
Besides the regular manual flying, Air 2S brings plenty of pre-programmed flying modes such as MasterShots, FocusTrack, Point of Interest 3.0, ActiveTrack 4.0, Spotlight 2.0, QuickShots, just to name a few.
The DJI Air 2s offers up to 31 minutes of flight time and 4 hours of remote battery life while using the same 3500mAh battery found on the Mavic Air 2. The just-announced drone also has 8 GB of internal storage while the onboard OcuSync 3.0 technology provides a stable, live view up to 7.5 miles away.
The DJI’s AirSense system, on the other hand, warns drone pilots of nearby airplanes and helicopters transmitting ADS-B signals, an improved Return-To-Home (RTH) feature, and the GEO 2.0 geofencing system to help keep the drone away from restricted areas. DJI Air 2S is also supported by the latest version of the DJI Fly app.
Other noteworthy features of the DJI Air 2S include DJI Motionlapse filming, the ability to take 12.6-stop dynamic RAW photos, auxiliary LED light for improved vision and safety in low light, manual ISO and shutter speed adjustment in M Mode, compatibility with optional Mavic Air 2 or DJI Smart Controller, and much more.
