Almost two months after the initial release, RODE Wireless GO II receives its first major firmware update. The second iteration of the ubiquitous microphone system gets the ability to use the on-board recording function without the need for the transmitter to be connected to the receiver, essentially turning the Wireless GO II into a super-compact field recorder.
With this firmware update, Wireless GO II users can now change the functionality of the transmitter power button to drop markers into the onboard recording. The new firmware also adds a low sensitivity mode for the transmitters as well as transmitter LED brightness adjustment.
The dual-channel system is capable of handling two transmitters at the same time for simple, two-person shoots with low latency. The setup also features the ability to switch between stereo or dual-mono output modes enabling each subject to be recorded to a separate audio channel.
Wireless GO II also boasts secure Series IV 2.4 GHz digital transmission and built-in mics allowing you to capture quality audio at a range of up to 656 feet. Other noteworthy features include built-In Omni mics and 3.5mm mic inputs, a USB Type-C digital audio output, 7-hour rechargeable batteries, easy setup, and more.
