After being initially announced back in April 2020, the Kinefinity MAVO Edge made waves in the community predominantly for its internal 8K recording capabilities and relatively affordable price tag ($12,000).
Unfortunately, the official release was postponed a few times already with the latest rumors suggesting that the flagship camera will eventually hit the market later this summer.
Meanwhile, Kinefinity has just released an enticing teaser trailer for a short film shot on the MAVO Edge in 8K which should be rolled out on March 23rd allegedly along with more info regarding the new camera release date and final specs.

For those of you who might not recall, the MAVO Edge will sport a full-frame sensor (44.7MP) with 14+ stops of dynamic range while being capable of shooting internal 8K video up to 75fps. Available codec options include ProRes 4444 XQ, ProRes 422 HQ, and H.264 proxy.
The newcomer will also feature Open gate 3:2 8K mode at up to 48fps as well as 6K Wide at up to 100fps and 4K Wide at up to 160fps. Other noteworthy features include Dual native ISO at 800/3200, dual SSD card slots, and internal ND filters. In fact, it will be the first Kinfinity camera that will offer an internal motorized ND filter system covering a range of 2 to 7 stops with continuous adjustment.
Furthermore, the MAVO Edge will come with a native KineMOUNT, which can be adapted to PL, LPL, active EF, and passive E-mount. Unfortunately, the camera won’t support any RAW formats such as ProRes RAW, CinemaDNG, and even KineRAW 2.0 will be absent.
