For those of you who are wondering what the imminent Sony Alpha camera might look like, here’s a couple of leaked images that have already popped up in the past few days. Even though nothing is confirmed yet, it’s pretty safe to assume that Sony FX3 is the camera that the Japanese behemoth will announce in less than three days.
This compact full-frame model is going to be the smallest unit in Sony’s Cinema lineup blurring the lines between the Alpha series and Sony’s pro cinema cameras with its hybrid shooting capabilities. Many rumors suggest that the newcomer will be capable of shooting both stills and video equally well which puts it in a unique position when comparing it to the existing siblings part of the Sony Cinema Line.

According to Sony Alpha Rumors, the brand new camera will sport the same 12MP full-frame sensor found in the Sony A7S III along with an active cooling system and the ability to shoot 4K video up to 120fps without any overheating issues.
Other noteworthy features include dedicated Photo Mode, IBIS with active mode, full-size HDMI, articualting LCD screen, and dual slot for CFexpress A and SD cards. The FX3 will be powered by the well-known Sony NPFZ 100 batteries used on cameras like the A7 III, A7R III, Alpha a6600, and A9 II.
Stay tuned for the official announcement scheduled for Tuesday, February 23 at 15:00 GMT.
