Sony ZV-1’s Latest Firmware v2.0 Enables Live Streaming via USB

Sony has just released a firmware update (v2.0) for its popular Sony ZV-1 vlogging camera. In essence, it allows users to live stream with the device by simply connecting it to a Windows or a Mac computer via USB. No HDMI capture device or any additional software is required.

That way, you can take advantage of the compact camera’s high-quality video and audio capabilities not only when you are filming your vlog, but also when you are using the camera for video calls or live streaming in front of your computer.

For further convenience, you can utilize this newly added functionality in combination with the camera connected to your Xperia smartphone ( Xperia 1 II or Xperia 5 II). It’s another way to use your smartphone as an additional display for your setup.

It’s also worth mentioning that the ZV-1’s autofocus features like Face Detection and Continuous AF are also available during live streaming. You can download the latest ZV-1 firmware update by visiting Sony’s support page here.
