Right after the Panasonic DC-S5 full-frame mirrorless camera announcement, Panasonic spills the beans on a series of upcoming new firmware updates for the S1H, S1R, and S1 that will enhance the overall functionality and usability of the cameras in question. For instance, the S1R will get the ability to record 5K video internally.
Another major upgrade will focus on autofocus capabilities of the S1H, S1R and S1 bringing better detect movement along with improved eye, face, and body tracking in real-time.
According to Panasonic, the new technology will track the body and head separately in real-time providing better focusing on subjects. What’s more, the camera will keep track of the subject even if the person is moving quickly in and out of frame.
Other improvements in the DFD technology will enhance AFC, which enables users to keep tracking small or fast-moving objects. Additionally, the brand new S5 will get Video Assist Function, support for C4K Video Recording along with Vector scope display, Master Pedestal Adjustment, SS/Gain Operation and a new photo style – L.MonochromeS, L.ClassicNeo.
These firmware updates are expected to be released by the end of 2020.
