Wooden Camera have added a new ARRI LPL mount to their lineup, this time adapting the ARRI Signature Primes to the rental-only RED Ranger camera.
Based around an integrated body concept with multiple SDI outputs and other industry standard I/O, the RED Ranger camera is a rental house only type of deal with the RED Monstro 8K sensor at its heart capable of cranking out full-frame 8K/60fps. Since this is one of the highest end cameras available for top end productions, it makes sense to create a dedicated lens adapter that allows cinematographers to use the new ARRI LPL mount Signature Primes and other upcoming LPL mount large format lenses.
In addition, ARRI have their own LPL to PL Adapter that is also compatible allowing easy change from standard PL lenses to LPL lenses. The Wooden Camera LPL adapter features an external LDS-2 port, that is not currently utilized (but will be in the future). Once external LDS-2 metadata workflows are created, this port can be connected to a metadata recorder.
Tipping the scale at just 216 grams, the Wooden Camera LPL adapter for RED Ranger is quite lightweight and simple to mount on the camera. Wooden Camera also have an ARRI LPL adapter for the rest of the DSMC2 RED lineup (except for the Raven, which has a fixed EF mount).
Wooden Camera also have an LPL mount adapter for Sony E-mount as well as an LPL mount adapter for the Sony VENICE, which has been kicking ass all over Hollywood lately; the Sony VENICE was used to shoot the new Top Gun sequel and will also make an appearance on a few other blockbusters soon.
The Wooden Camera ARRI LPL mount for RED Ranger is priced at $1,295 and is available to order from Wooden Camera.
The VENICE LPL adapter is priced at $1295 as well, while the Sony E mount to LPL adapter is priced at $599.
