Popular camera accessories maker Wooden Camera have a few new accessory kits for the more video-oriented Panasonic S1 full-frame mirrorless camera.
The Wooden Camera Unified Accessory Kit for the Panasonic S1 features a three-tiered approach, similar to other Wooden Camera products, based around the company’s Unified DSLR cage concept.
The Base Kit starts off with the Medium Universal DSLR cage (including a top handle) and also adds a 15mm baseplate and a couple of 12-inch 15mm rods for easy mounting of accessories such as matte boxes and follow focus units.
The Advanced kit builds upon the Base Kit by adding a monitor mounting arm and an ARRI-style dovetail, while the Pro level takes it up even further by adding an adjustable plate for a V-mount or Gold mount battery, an XLR audio adapter with 2 x XLR inputs, and a longer dovetail.
Here is a breakdown of what each level of kit includes:
- Panasonic S1 Unified Accessory Kit Base:
- Wooden Camera Unified DSLR Cage (Medium)
- Wooden Camera Unified DSLR 15mm Baseplate

The Panasonic S1 has been a huge project for the Lumix division at Panasonic, representing the company’s first foray into the world of full-frame mirrorless cameras alongside the more photography-tailored Panasonic S1R.
The camera maker has high hopes for the L-mount Panasonic S1, which recently received the highly-anticipated firmware update v1.2 adding full V-Log and 4K 10bit 4:2:2 recording option in the camera, and even announced a higher-spec Panasonic S1H 6K model at Cine Gear 2019 cementing the company’s commitment to full-frame cinematography.
Panasonic are said to be releasing full specs and further details on the Panasonic S1H in the coming weeks and with IBC 2019 in less than 4 weeks, I’d place my bet on this “specs unveil” to be happening in Amsterdam during IBC.
Without a doubt, given the top initial/overall features announced at Cine Gear, you can expect the S1H to be significantly more expensive than the S1, which still remains a very capable video-oriented hybrid camera.
