Ikan SAGA S7H-V2 High Bright 7-inch Monitor Announced

High brightness, or daylight-viewable monitors in other words, are all the rage these days in the on-camera monitor segment. From SmallHD to Atomos and beyond, it seems like every brand under the sun that is somehow involved in making monitors is announcing a new high-brightness model. And this can only be a good thing for all of us.

Gone are the days of 300nits monitors with shoddy resolution and makeshift DIY sunshades that you can’t see anything outside. Ikan have been making various gear and accessories for filmmakers ranging from monitors to LED lights and stabilizers. The company just announced their new Ikan Saga S7H-V2, or version 2 of their S7H monitor, this time with a whopping 1200nits bright daylight viewable panel with the industry standard now 1920 x 1200 resolution.

The Ikan Saga S7H-V2 offers a modern, slim design, and has enough real-estate thanks to its 7-inch high bright panel and offers versatile connectivity thanks to the HDMI and 3G-SDI inputs and outputs as well as loop-through.

The S7H-V2 supports both Ultra HD (3840×2160) as well as DCI 4K (4096×2160) via the HDMI ports. The monitor also comes packed with various pro monitoring features such as 1:1 pixel mapping, false colour, peaking, and custom 3D LUT support.

The S7H-V2 includes a dual Sony NP-F L-series battery plate and can use two batteries at a time for extended run time.
