Philips Announces a 32-inch HDR Monitor with 99% Adobe RGB Coverage Selling for Just $500

Almost completely out of the blue, Philips has announced a brand new QHD docking USB-C monitor with High Dynamic Range (HDR) support and extremely appealing price tag. The Philips Brilliance 328P6AU boasts a 32-inch 10-bit IPS display that can reproduce 1.07 billion colors and features a 2560×1440 resolution at 60Hz with 450nits brightness as well as 1200:1 static contrast ratio.

Additionally, the newcomer covers 100% of the sRGB as well as 99% of the Adobe RGB color spaces and supports HDR10 media profile using wide-gamut Rec. 2020 color space. The professional monitor also features a built-in USB-C dock that offers a couple of USB 3.0 ports alongside a gigabit Ethernet port, and USB Power Delivery specifications to charge laptops and other supported devices.

Other neat features include the SmartErgoBase ergonomic adjustable stand that enables users to tilt, swivel and raise the display for maximum viewing comfort. The monitor also features Philips LowBlue Mode which reduces potentially harmful shortwave blue light.

There is also a flicker-free technology on board that regulates brightness and reduces flicker for even more enhanced viewing experience. The latest P-line monitor sports built-in stereo speakers alongside 3.5mm audio-in and headphone output jacks.

Regarding connectivity options, the Philips Brilliance 328P6AU HDR monitor provides a DisplayPort 1.2, an HDMI 2.0a, a D-Sub and a USB Type-C inputs. The USB Type-C port supports DisplayPort alternate mode for USB-C and can deliver up to 60 W of power to charge your laptop on the fly.

The Philips 328P6AUBREB P-line display is expected to hit the European market first in January 2018 at a retail price of €499. The US release is yet to be announced, but it’s almost certain that the monitor will cost around $500 once it becomes available in the United States which overall seems to be quite reasonable considering all the features and functionality that the unit has to offer for the price.
