It was just officially confirmed that Panasonic will roll out the first one of the promised firmware updates for the GH5 on April 24, 2017. The new firmware Ver.1.1 will add 4:2:2 10-bit Full HD video recording at 100Mbps alongside 10-bit 4:2:2 IPB capture when shooting at 3328 x 2496 resolution at 150Mbps in addition to the existing 4K video recording mode.
Other minor enhancements include fixing the malfunction of the exposure adjustment during live view standby when using [Variable Frame Rate] on certain occasions along with the weird appearance of afterimages when recording video under high ISO sensitivity settings while using [V-LogL].
Below you’ll find the full list of the upcoming recording modes that will be enabled once the DC-GH5 Firmware Update Service Ver.1.1 becomes avilable.

Sadly, there is still no word on possible autofocus improvements regarding the camera but rather than that it’s great that Panasonic are taking their word seriously and start delivering the promised firmware updates strictly according to schedule. Meanwhile, the new DC-GH5 firmware Ver 1.1 is expected to be released on 24 April, 2017 at the following LUMIX Customer Support website.

I don’t understand the fuss over the AF. Mine works pretty well. Not perfect but I don’t expect it to be perfect. My 20mm f1.7 is very sensitive when at 1.7 face tracking. My 12-60mm Leica is much much more smoother and better.
From tests I’ve seen, the new 12-60 leica is indeed much better. I am hoping to get my hands on this lens soon and do some tests.
After updating the firmware, the lens information is missing from the EXIF data. Anyone else have this problem?
After updating the boddy firmware, the lens update faled? the update din’t start. insted it showed: “No valid picture to play”
