The Premium Samyang XP 85mm F/1.2 and 14mm F/2.4 Lenses Now Available

Budget optics maker Samyang just announced the global availability and the price of its long-awaited premium XP 14mm F2.4 and XP 85mm F1.2 lenses. As you may recall, those were initially introduced back in September during the Photokina trade show in Cologne, Germany. Claimed to deliver unprecedented resolving power while matching with 50 megapixels photo and 8K video productions, the two premium Samyang XP lenses are equipped with the most advanced optical technology and upgrades yet. Both units are available in Canon mount and will be on the market from December selling for 949 Euros each.

The Samyang XP 14mm F2.4 has 18 glasses in 14 groups including six glasses of four different special optics. The lens is designed to maximize the resolution and minimize the distortion artifacts across the whole area of the captured image. In addition, the refractive lenses effectively adjust the path of light and deliver maximum amount to the sensor for a clear and vibrant image.

The F1.2 of 85mm, on the other hand, is by far, the brightest telephoto lens in existing full frame DSLR lenses according to Samyang. It has ten elements in seven groups with three special glasses applying one aspherical lens and two high refractive lenses that minimize the aberration and unnecessary light dispersion.
