You may remember the previous DJI’s announcement made earlier in April at this year’s NAB when the company introduced its flagship hexacopter the Matrice 600 along with the Ronin-MX gimbal. The latest version of the next generation 6 propeller system Matrice 600 PRO that was just unveiled to the world builds on the features of its predecessor the M600 with the addition of extended flight times, better loading capacity along with pre-installed arms and antennas. The M600 PRO now provides extended flight time of up to 35 minutes while handling payloads up to 6kg including cameras ranging from the Panasonic GH4, Sony A7S II to the Arri ALEXA Mini, RED Epic and other cameras with a similar form factor.

Just like its predecessor, the Matrice 600 PRO is compatible with the latest Ronin MX 3-axis gimbal stabilizer and boasts the DJI’s LightBridge 2 technology allowing the drone to stream 1080p video signal at 60fps from a distance of up to 3.1 miles away. The M600 PRO also supports the DJI GO app and DJI Assistant 2 providing full control over the unit that’s equipped with a brand new flight controller, three GPS modules, three IMUs as well as 6 batteries for increased flight times.
Moreover, the smart battery management system of the Matrice 600 PRO monitors every battery during flight ensuring the M600 PRO will safely land in case any of the batteries fail unexpectedly while the drone is still up in the air. Its charger comes with six charging hubs that enable charging of six intelligent batteries at a time. Depending on the type of battery users choose, all six power units can be fully charged for less than two hours.
Furthermore, the M600 PRO airframe has been optimized for easier transportation with a quick-release landing gear design and folding frame arms. The dustproof propulsion systems and active cooling motors, on the other hand, ensure seamless operation for extended periods of time even in more challenging weather conditions. The M600 PRO also comes with a durable, customizable case for further protection when traveling. All Zenmuse cameras and gimbals are natively compatible with the latest DJI drone while offering full integration with other third-party software and hardware applications.
While being packed with all these professional features and the latest DJI’s proprietary technology, the flagship Matrice 600 PRO is everything but cheap, though. Currently, it sells for $4,999.
