Nikon Launches Its KeyMission Action Cam Line with Three New Cameras

Apparently, new camera announcements came in bursts at the start of Photokina 2016. After Panasonic had introduced the upcoming GH5, alongside three other new cameras all capable of shooting 4K video, and Sony, Olympus, and GoPro dropped a few enticing products along the way, Nikon has also joined the party with the introduction of its KeyMission series. This brand new action camera lineup includes the KeyMission 360, a rugged 360-degree 4K video camera with front and back lenses, the KeyMission 170, a mountable action cam that captures 170-degree 4K video as well as slow-motion, and the KeyMission 80, an ultracompact hands-free action cam with the form factor of an old-fashioned compact tape recorder. You can use these cameras as standalone devices or shoot with them simultaneously from multiple angles to capture a variety of different perspectives for your production.

The Nikon KeyMission 360 is a dual-lens action camera that simultaneously captures two 180°+ images in up to Ultra HD 4K resolution at 24 fps and then stitches the two separate images internally thus providing one 360° spherical VR image. The KeyMission 360 features a rugged design as well as it’s waterproof down to 100 ft, shockproof from 6.6 ft, freezeproof, and dustproof. The camera also features internal electronic Vibration Reduction and is capable of shooting Full HD 1080p video at 24 fps, 1440 x 960 video at 25/30 fps, and 29MP still images.
