Kessler Just Announced the World’s Most Versatile Timelapse Camera Slider

Two weeks ago we covered an extensive astrophotography video guide produced by award-winning photographer, time-lapse filmmaker and digital visual effects supervisor Mark Gee where he covers everything from location scouting to camera setup and includes a detailed section on post production for capturing astounding night time-lapse images out in the wild. Typically, an essential part of most time-lapse workflows, beside the camera, of course, is the motion slider.

US-based Kessler has been a major player in the realm of camera sliders for the last ten years, and throughout that time the company has become a leader in delivering high-quality and robust professional tools for independent filmmakers such as camera cranes and jibs, camera motion control systems, camera sliders and dollies, tripods and heads and other camera mounting and grip accessories. Recently, the company has announced it’s latest product – the world’s most versatile timelapse centric camera slider with advanced motion control system called TLS.

TLS: Overview from Kessler Crane on Vimeo.

According to Kessler, TLS is the most configurable time-lapse unit available today that combines a popular rail design with an already proven world-class product such as the Second Shooter (Kessler’s revolutionary motion control system) to control camera movement. Essentially, it’s extremely sturdy and affordable 80/20 rail system that comes in a variety of lengths (available in 3’, 4’, 5’ and 6’) allowing users to have a perfect size for every scenario and its ease of assembly allows for changes on-the-fly.

Furthermore, if you’ve already made the switch to Kessler’s ecosystem you will be able to utilize existing components, such as the Second Shooter controller, Pan and Tilt head, FIZ motors and other Second Shooter accessories with TLS. The slider motor of the new system is built into the cart for a compact and organized setup. The TLS custom aluminium components and 80/20 T-slot rail are built in a way that can handle the most extreme and challenging environments often encountered by time-lapse shooters.

Another great feature of the TLS is the fact that it can be separated into its individual components quickly making travelling with the system a breeze. It’s lightweight enough so that you will be able to get in and out of locations without dedicating all of your efforts to carrying the system around.

Proprietary cart guide wheels ensure smooth and consistent camera motion along with several 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threaded holes capable of accommodating a wide range of accessories based on your individual requirements for every shoot. The TLS also provides removable ball feet on end clamps for flat surface use and it’s also compatible with the 15mm optional legs that make it easy to level system on the fly.
