It’s always great to have access to a stock library with plenty of versatile high-quality footage, especially when you are working on projects with tight schedules and you don’t have either time or resources to capture some extra shots on your own. This is where the stock footage collection of the Philadelphia-based director of photography and cinematographer Mitch Martinez may come in handy.
For more than 2.5 years he was putting together a library of various 4K high-quality clips mainly shot on RED Epic and RED One MX cameras. The result is more than impressive – 1,500+ video clips organized in 35 different categories including aerials, landscapes, time-lapses and everything in between. Here are a few examples:

It’s worth mentioning that the stock footage is primarily intended for independent productions. All of the clips are free of charge and can be downloaded at no additional cost. If you find any of the clips useful and appropriate for some of your projects you can make a small donation to support the site. In fact, this is how the service is funded and continues to grow, providing weekly updates. The files are h264 encoded mp4 format and for most purposes, users are able to utilize the footage with little to no restrictions. ProRes and the original r3d. files can be additionally purchased as an option.
For any commercial projects including corporate videos, feature films, tv shows, music videos, etc. you should complete the form on the Release Form Request Page to ensure proper paperwork for a use of the stock footage is in place for your project. This still does not involve payment or fees, just making sure all of the legal things are arranged. However, Mitch Martinez is under no obligation to grant stock footage licensing and reserves the right to deny licensing if deemed appropriate.
Many of the clips have already been used for commercial projects of major brands such as Microsoft, Nike, HBO, NBC Universal, Samsung and many others. If you are interested you may want to take a look at Mitch Martinez Official Website.
