Save $1,000 on a New Sony FS700 Plus Get a Free Metabones Smart Adapter

This Summer has started with quote a lot of deals going on – the AJA CION got a whopping $4,000 slashed off its price, making it essentially a $5,000 camera until the end of the Summer at least. And now Sony is jumping in on the fun by giving you the opportunity to save $1,000 off on the purchase of a brand new NEX-FS700R body-only camcorder (now at $4,999 at B&H), which is capable of recording 4K up to 60p and 2K up to 240fps in Raw to a compatible external recorder such as the Convergent Design Odyssey7Q+ and soon the Atomos Shogun.

Not only that, but Sony are sweetening the offer even further by offering a free Metabones Smart Adapter Mark IV (EF to NEX E-mount) to qualifying purchases of the following models Sony cameras – FS700R (both Body only and with the kit lens too), FS100 and PXW-FS7 and FS7K (with 28-135mm lens version).

The promotional period ends June 30th. Valid purchases of the above cameras from authorises resellers need to have been made or be made between April 1st, 2015 and June 30th, 2015. The Free Metabones Smart Adapter (worth $399) is generally received 8-10 weeks after the claim form is sent to Sony.

Yes, Raw is supported of course by the Sony’s own AXS-R5 Raw recorder, however the HXR-IFR5 is also required, which bumps up the price of Raw recording to over $7,500+ and that doesn’t even include the AXS media cards. The Odyssey7Q/+ and the Shogun are much more affordable and streamlined options for those who want 4K Raw recording and slow-motion 2K Raw.

Nevertheless, the Sony FS700 is still a fantastic camera sharing the same sensor as the FS7, although not capable of internal 4K such as the newer and more expensive FS7 (good luck trying to get your hands on one), the older 4K ready camera from Sony can still delivery silky smooth slow-motion even in camera.
