One camera you shouldn’t over-look is the Samsung NX1. I’ve said this on other sites, and I’ll say it here, Samsung is going to become a major player in this market. The NX1 is their debut mirror less 4K camera, that is the most technologically advanced APS-C sized sensor on the market. As of this post, Samsung has provided 4 firmware updates to this camera and is rumored to offer one every month. Unheard of by any other company of this magnitude. True, transcoding the H.265 codec this camera captures to is somewhat time consuming, but all that is going to change soon, as H.265 is the future codec that all camera will be shooting very soon.
Yep, the NX1 is definitely on our radar
Cool! I know I love my NX1, and the thing about it is, this cameras 4K image looks fantastic when you use older glass, such as some older Nikkor lenses. It just takes away that razors end on the image that is inherent of a 4K image, and gives you a much more cinematic quality. Speaking from and video standpoint, I’ve shot with practically every DSLR on the market and IMO, this camera has the best image out of all of them.
