With creative professionals in mind, who demand the highest levels of colour accuracy, Dell designed and recently announced three brand new Ultrasharp monitors with improved colour reproduction and enhanced connectivity. The latest entries in the Dell monitors line-up include 25″, 27″ and 32″ screen sizes. They all feature the top-notch PremierColor technology of Dell that offers reliable, true-to-life colours out of the box without the need for extensive calibration.
The 25″ and 27″ models provide a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1440, both have 100% AdobeRGB and sRGB coverage. It’s worth noting that they also support two new color spaces REC 709 and DCI-P3 where they achieve 100% and 98% coverage respectively. This is a great news for colorists and professional editors who are looking for a reliable and reasonably priced display that support these colour spaces along with the availability of user-enabled color adjustments and exceptional color depth and color gamut for color-critical work.
The 32″ model supports 3840 x 2160 resolution provides 99.5 percent Adobe RGB and 100 percent sRGB, 100 percent REC709 and 87 percent DCI-P3 coverage. The UP3214Q also has the highest pixel density of the three – 140 Pixel per inch. The new displays feature ultra-thin bezels, so that can more easily be integrated into a dual monitor workspace. The latest entries still lack the much larger Rec.2020 gamut since neither of the three covers fully DCI P3 but they are extremely close, especially the UP2526D and UP2716D monitors that achieve 98% coverage in this respect.
There are also a handful of improvements on the connectivity side as well. All of the three models provide extensive connectivity with HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort, mini-DisplayPort, USB 3.0. HDMI 2.0 allows 4K content to be transferred at 60Hz for uncompromising picture quality.
